Another Miserable Owl-Man And His Movie

October 19, 2012 § Leave a comment

Today my HBO Go brought me a film about a man who is so much like me. Alan Berliner.

He made a movie called Wide Awake. It’s about him and his insomnia.

It’s more like an artistic vlog-like story about an author-character than like a documentary. But it’s worth watching. You can follow him in his journey through doctors’ offices, arguments with tired but still understanding wife and mother, who, due to some theories, is partially responsible for his adult son’s insomnia. It’s about destruction of social life caused by this disease (?), about collecting obsession and imaginary ways of cheating Death.

It inspired me to make a couple of resolutions. Starting tommorow with a walk in the morning.
